Premier League makes its SportGuru debut |
23 Jul 2010 Following the success of our Football World Cup game and the positive feedback we received, we're delighted to be running a Premier League Predictor game. It's a long old season, but all it takes is a couple of minutes each week to make your picks, and we'll find out in May 2011 who will be the Ultimate Football Guru. Game format The format is slightly different to the other tournaments that we've run. We won't be predicting every single fixture in the competition for fear of PredictionExhaustion, and instead, we've picked the top 8 teams from last year and will be using their fixtures in the game. That will usually leave us with 6 or 7 fixtures to pick in each round, which we think is the optimum number - there are plenty of point-scoring opportunities, but it's not too overwhelming. And plus, is anyone really interested in Burnley v West Brom anyway? The top 8 teams from last year are as follows: - Chelsea - Manchester United - Arsenal - Tottenham - Manchester City - Liverpool - Aston Villa - Everton Scoring system The scoring system during the World Cup was very well-received, so we'll be sticking with it, even though the Bonus Point calculations are a little complicated. Check out the how to play page for a full explanation. Looking forward to it already! |

why cant we have predictons for all the weeks games. its only 10 games and wont take much longer than an xtra minute or so.
Sorry for the slow reply - we′ve been thinking about this, and doing some analysis of previous tournaments and how this one might go.
The conclusion is that we are sticking to our guns! We think it will be a better game this way, with more chance of PredictionAddiction than PredictionExhaustion, and hopefully a higher number of players that can last the distance over a very long season.
We always value feedback, so we′ll review at the end of this game and consider changing things around for next year.
